Increasing the accuracy of your temperature measurements.

Monitor Newsletter at Windmill Software (https://www.windmill.co.uk/) regularly publishes useful articles related to measurement, control, data acquisition and calibration. One recent articles entitled: “How accurate are your temperature measurements?” (https://www.windmill.co.uk/thermocouple-accuracy.html), discusses several key factors along with links to more resource information on them.

Not to be left out are the very useful Standards and publications available online at the ASTM International website providing an in-depth resource for the serious user of all types of temperature sensors. There are 279 examples listed at https://www.astm.org/catalogsearch/result/?q=Temperature+sensor

The NIST Thermodynamic Metrology Group maintains and develops standards of temperature and supports calibration of all types of contact thermometers, see https://www.nist.gov/programs-projects/thermometry. Thermal radiation thermometer and heat flux sensor measurements and calibration services are are offered through the Optical Radiation Group, see https://www.nist.gov/programs-projects/radiation-thermometry.
